True Urushi

Urushi lacquer is applied with a brush to an object by the hand of a traditional craftsman. After the careful application of many layers of Urushi and ornamentation, Urushi brings great protection for the art piece as it makes the object able to withstand erosion from water, acids, alcohol, and changes in weather conditions.

Each creation of the Urushi art piece requires a lot of time and skills. And you can feel the dedication of an artisan when you touch and feel the quality of the final product.

Making Process

Every single pen is painted by the hands of Japanese craftsmen in Wajima.

The creation of an Urushi fountain pen takes a least 3 months or even longer to make sure the final piece of art is at its most beautiful finish.

My favorite purchase so far in 2025!

"I did not expect the pen to arrive so soon after it was ordered. The pen is absolutely stunning with the leaf roll stopper and red ebonite feed options. The gold-plated #6 Jowo steel nib is a smooth writer. My only complaint is that the nib rights more like a European to . Definitely not a deal breaker, but I was hoping for more of a Japanese . Customs duties in Czech Republic were about 1/3 of the cost of the pen. This was surprisingly high, but I am not at all disappointed. It is a beautiful pen which I recommend to anyone looking to add a work of art into their pen collection. I absolutely adore writing with this pen. I currently have it inked with Diamine's Writer's Blood. I am looking forward to selecting and purchasing my next Wancher pen."
