TESTIMONIALS

Who made your Dream Pen?

Dream Pen - 夢万年筆

A true Ebonite fountain pen with true values of Japanese traditional arts.

With a great fountain pen, you can write many beautiful things and amazing ideas. And from there, many good things are believed to come.

We hope that with our Dream Pen, many dreams will be written about and become true.

True Urushi

Urushi lacquer is applied with a brush to an object by the hand of a traditional craftsman. After the careful application of many layers of Urushi and ornamentation, Urushi brings great protection for the art piece as it makes the object able to withstand erosion from water, acids, alcohol, and changes in weather conditions.

Each creation of the Urushi art piece requires a lot of time and skills. And you can feel the dedication of an artisan when you touch and feel the quality of the final product.

Making Process

Every single pen is painted by the hands of Japanese craftsmen in Wajima.

The creation of an Urushi fountain pen takes a least 3 months or even longer to make sure the final piece of art is at its most beautiful finish.

I am 100% pleased

"While considerably more affordable than some other genuine Japanese makers, this pen is wonderful. The 1.5mm stub was a little wet at first (probably due to factory treatment), but settled down after a couple of pages. The fine and medium nibs were very smooth. One of them required a tine pushed down, just a bit. Great product, price, and delivery."

Beautiful pen

"The pen is beautiful! Unfortunately, when it arrived the 18K gold nib was damaged and needed to be replaced. Wancher customer service was excellent in handling the matter and a replacement nib was sent immediately. I am very happy with the service."

This is truly a pen

"This is truly a pen to cherish. It makes you write with greater consciousness. I really love it and turn to it at least once each day!"

A fantastic way to get introduced to Urushi. A great pen too

"I saw this as an affordable (relatively) way to introduce myself to an Urushi pen that has a good nib. I was not disappointed. The Japanese nib writes on par with or better than my Pilot and Sailor nibs. The feel everyone talks about is real. It feels warm and has a touch or giving texture. Pretty interesting for me. I have enjoyed using it for journaling and the way it lays down the ink. It is a beautiful pen to look at to boot."

Excellent pen

"My True Urushi, Kuro Tamenuri Dream pen was neatly packed in a wood box. The dark red pen looks stunning with the magnificent nuances of the urushi. The long but light barrel is well balanced and fits comfortably in my hand. The solid stub nib is tuned perfectly and writes smoothly providing a consistent ink flow. Although it takes a while to get used to the cap closure, the spring mechanism efficiently prevents drying out of the ink when the pen is unused. I am satisfied with the Dream pen."
