Dream Pen - 夢万年筆
A true Ebonite fountain pen with true values of Japanese traditional arts.
With a great fountain pen, you can write many beautiful things and amazing ideas. And from there, many good things are believed to come.
We hope that with our Dream Pen, many dreams will be written about and become true.
Material: Ebonite
Ebonite is a great material made from natural rubber with a durable, warm and luxurious feel for handwriting. Ebonite was originally used to make fountain pens in the early 20th century. However, due to its complexity in production, it was later abandoned by most manufacturers in favour of various plastics, which were easier to work with.
Today, as a homage to traditional pen manufacturing, we are honored to restore Ebonite as the material of all of our pens.
Traditional Urushi
Urushi lacquer is applied with a brush to an object by hand of a traditional craftsman. After the careful application of many layers of Urushi and ornamentation, Urushi brings great protection for the art piece as it makes the object able to withstand erosion from water, acids, alcohol, and changes in weather conditions.
Each creation of Urushi art piece requires a lot of time and skills. And you can feel the dedication of an artisan when you touch and feel the quality of the final product.

The Making Process

Every single pen is painted by hands of Japanese craftsmen in Wajima.
The creation of a Urushi fountain pen takes a least 3 months or even longer to make sure the final piece of art is at its most beautiful finish.
