Material: Ebonite
Ebonite is a great material made from natural rubber with a durable, warm and luxurious feel for handwriting. Ebonite was originally used to make fountain pens in the early 20th century. However, due to its complexity in production, it was later abandoned by most manufacturers in favour of various plastics, which were easier to work with.
Today, as a homage to traditional pen manufacturing, we are honored to restore Ebonite as the material of all of our pens.
Traditional Urushi
Urushi lacquer is applied with a brush to an object by hand of a traditional craftsman. After the careful application of many layers of Urushi and ornamentation, Urushi brings great protection for the art piece as it makes the object able to withstand erosion from water, acids, alcohol, and changes in weather conditions.
Each creation of Urushi art piece requires a lot of time and skills. And you can feel the dedication of an artisan when you touch and feel the quality of the final product.

The Making Process


Every single pen is painted by hands of Japanese craftsmen in Wajima.
The creation of a Urushi fountain pen takes a least 3 months or even longer to make sure the final piece of art is at its most beautiful finish.

A smooth nib needs a good feed to perform the best. Our fountain pens come with standard Plastic feed to ensure the most pleasant writing experience.

If you love to have more smooth writing and wet ink flow, an upgrade to Ebonite feed is the choice for you.
