The World Tree fountain pen is the first model from our Sekai collection which embraces the idea of connecting the world by arts.

The World Tree fountain pen is born from the aspiration to be connected and peaceful like the World Tree in many mythologies.

The main materials of the World Tree fountain pen have been carefully selected from natural precious woods from all over the world such as Ebony, Verawood, and Sandalwood.

The Story of Olive Wood

In ancient Greece, the olive trees of Athens were seen as a symbol of the city state's power and their favor with the gods of Mount Olympus. Not only did these trees provide life-sustaining olives, but its wood - Olive Wood - was used to build their formidable navy, as well the bows for their fearsome archers. As the reputation of Athens continued to spread across the Mediterranean, their olive trees soon became their way of brokering peace and trade agreements. This is why over a thousand years later, people still say that one should offer "an olive branch" when attempting to mend fences between two or more parties. 

As with all handcrafted items, the World Tree - Olive Wood Fountain Pens are each different from one another, regardless if they originated from the exact same olive tree. The light brown color is accented by non-concentric patterns of a darker color that seems to spread out in all directions across the entirety of the pen. Once in your grasp, the feel of the wood grounds you and your thoughts with its completely natural, earthy feeling. Although the wood has been polished until it is smooth, you can still feel the grain as you tuck the pen into the crook of your hand while you write. 

Sterling Silver 925 Clip

The World Tree fountain pen is compatible with a 925 Sterling Silver clip. When ordering this fountain pen you can choose the clip as an optional accessory.

The clip is made from high-quality sterling silver in our workshop in Japan. However, our 925 silver clip is finished with a special technique of anodizing.

Our hometown Oita has been known as the largest Onsen (hot springs) town in Japan. Using the natural hot steam from those hot springs, we created a matte version for the clip of the World Tree fountain pen.

This clip is detachable so you can attach or detach it as you like.
