Tsugaru Urushi Pen Pillow is crafted with Kara-nuri - a high-quality Tsugaru-nuri technique that illustrates distinctive speckled patterns created by four to six different Urushi color lacquers.
The "age" in Midori-age refers to the effect of the main color that is finally raised over other complementary colors.
Raden (mother-of-pearl) has also been carefully inlaid onto the pen pillow itself.
