Shizuku Blue Moon - Special Edition

Shizuku Blue Moon is our exclusive edition which comes in a completely new and unique look. The body is hammered by hand, which creates an uneven but satisfying surface for the pen. This is achieved after more than a month of hand crafting process.

About Shizuku Glass Nib Fountain Pen

The name Shizuku in Japanese is inspired from the picture of a water (or ink) drop on the surface. Shizuku is a special fountain pen featured with handmade glass nib and converter mechanism.

In Japan, glass pen was developed since Meiji period and it was very popular. However, due to the fact that the ink couldn't be stored and the inconvenience of carrying and ink stains, glass pens became less favored than fountain pens and ballpoint pens.

This time we would like to gain back the popularity of glass pen by introducing Shizuku glass nib fountain pen with which aforementioned problems were solved.

Firstly, you won't be bothered with the ink storage problem of glass pen any more since our Shizuku glass nib fountain pen works well with an ink converter. Glass nib can connect directly to a converter. Therefore, you can write with a glass pen for as long as when writing with fountain pen.

Secondly, the techniques used in creating our Shizuku pen are originally invented and developed by Mr. 楊森 who had been researching and making glass for decades. The nib is entirely handmade from a strong and durable material over the course of a month which is to ensure that glass nib from Shizuku pen is more durable.

Last but not least, the body of Shizuku pen is built from high-class Duralumin - the exceptional material used in Aircraft and Aerospace with high-strength whereas light weight. Especially, the color showing on each pen is completely unique and there is no similar pen even in the same collection. The anodizing technique applied on Duralumin is proved to protect the body from discoloration and corrosion.

Hold the pen, relax your arm, then touch the glass nib on paper, you will not only enjoy the look but also feel an ultimate smoothness and amazing ink flow.

Original Glass Nib Fountain Pen

The converter mechanism of glass nib has been registered under Japan Patent Office with Certificate of Utility Model Registration. The glass nib is proved to be able to supply ink directly from the converter.

Wonderful first glass nib

"This was my first experience with a glass nib, and it did not disappoint. :) It's smooth and easy to write with. I did have to change my writing style a bit to hold the pen more vertical, but that was by no means a blocker and I quickly adapted. I'm going to explore glass nibs a bit more."

Blue Moon Glass Dip Fountain Pen Review

"I purchased this Glass Dip Fountain Pen because I was curious about its design and writing capability. I'm unsatisfied with my Blue Moon Fountain pen purchase. The nib fell out of its Section when filling the converter with ink on its first use. The glass nib is friction-fitted, and the tolerances are not tight enough to hold the glass nib to the Section. Luckily I had an extra ink bottle to transfer the ink into an empty bottle to remove the glass nib from the bottom of the ink bottle. Surprisingly the glass nib didn't shatter or crack. Another design flaw is that the glass nib section is too short, so you need tiny fingers to unscrew the Section to the Barrel without getting ink all over your fingers. The converter is friction-fitted, which could be a better design. The glass nib is too tiny and would be nicer if the nib was slightly larger. The glass nib came curved, and it has to be at a certain angle before you can even write with it. I could accept the poor design if the pen were less than $100."
