Sekai Aizu Urushi
Inspired by the desire for connection and peace like the World Tree in many mythologies, Sekai Aizu Urushi is the second edition in Sekai Collection which embraces the idea of bonding the world through arts.
Aizu Urushi is one of the oldest and most famous Urushi (lacquerware) arts in Japan. Aizu Urushi is a 9000 year old art form, which originates from the snowy Aizu region. Each Sekai fountain pen is hand-painted with Suki-Urushi (translucent) using Nurippanashi technique by skillful Aizu craftsmen with decades of experience in their Urushi Arts.
With many layers of urushi applied, after a long period of 6 months, 1 year or more, your fountain pen will become glossier and unveil the beautiful texture of natural wood.
