Concept

The pen may be mightier than a sword, but is it mightier than a mythical Titan? Before the Greek gods of Mt. Olympus, there were the Titans like Kronos, Atlas, Prometheus, and Helios, who were even more powerful than the gods, and they embodied unfathomable concepts for the Greeks, like how Kronos was linked to Time, and Helios to the Sun.

Through the combination of titanium and strengthened wood, the timelessness of these Titans is able to shine through while maintaining a connection to nature through the wooden material and the mountain Olympus. We believe that pens can be as mighty and as timeless as the collector desires, and it is our duty to craft a pen that can empower you to reach your fullest potential.

What is Stabilized Wood?

Stabilized Wood involves a chemical process to strengthen the original wooden material. The craftsman begins by first taking all of the wooden pieces - in this case, we selected a beautiful maple wood - and drying it inside a vacuum chamber.
This vacuum chamber will remove all the moisture and air particles from the wood, thereby creating 'pores' within the wood.

Next, a liquid resin is carefully inserted into these nigh-invisible pores before it is once again placed in a vacuum chamber to remove any additional moisture that may have re-entered the wooden material alongside the liquid resin. Finally, the craftsman 'cures' the material by exposing it to heat. This will solidify the liquid resin within the wood. Although it's a complicated process, the benefits are worth it. This strengthens the wood, making it more durable, as well as resistant to water. Through the stabilization method, you can achieve the best of both worlds - the appearance of natural wood with the strength of resin reinforcing it.

One of the main reasons that maple was selected for this collection was the all-natural variety in design available even prior to the stabilization process. For this reason, no two pens will be exactly the same, as the grain of the wood and how the resin coats the pen cannot be completely identical.

The blocky, sharp-edged titanium clip matches the titanium grip, making the pen much lighter than if stainless steel was used, and far more luxurious than simply using plastic.

The Olympus Titan Ballpoint Pen is at its most stylish during the act of writing, as the wooden material narrowing down to the titanium grip before finally ending on the ballpoint makes it clear that this is a pen made for professionals with a classical taste.
