Matte black v silk black?
"So far, it’s a fantastic pen in matte finish and looks very elegant. I now need the silk (or glossy) one to compare. Well done, regardless!"

Important Note: The making process of True Ebonite fountain pens requires many handcrafting steps. Therefore, the thickness of the pen will vary slightly along the pen body and the cap's finial. Each pen is different from one to another. We hope that you will embrace this point as a unique trait and special characteristic of the product.
A true Ebonite fountain pen with true values of Japanese traditional arts.
With a great fountain pen, you can write many beautiful things and amazing ideas. And from there, many good things are believed to come.
We hope that with our Dream Pen, many dreams will be written about and become true.
Ebonite is a great material made from natural rubber with a durable, warm, and luxurious feel for handwriting. Ebonite was originally used to make fountain pens in the early 20th century. However, due to its complexity in production, it was later abandoned by most manufacturers in favor of various plastics, which were easier to work with.
Today, as a homage to traditional pen manufacturing, we are honored to restore Ebonite as the material of all of our pens.
The True Ebonite fountain pen is a combination of vintage materials and minimal design. Our Ebonite is crafted into your fountain pen with the highest precision. Hold your True Ebonite fountain pen and feel the best quality in material for writing instruments.

"I really like the True Ebonite Dream Pen. This is the second one be purchased in matte black. However, I’m disappointed because the first one I purchased has a nice metal thread where the cap screws on to the body. The second one came black ebonite for the threads, not metal. I was disappointed because I think the metal looks nice and is what was shown in the photos in their website. I was not expecting to get something other than what was shown on the website."

"While the Dream pen feels great to hold, feels good to operate in your hands - everything turns to dust as you try to use it for writing. The Wancher flex nib is scratchy, has a poor feed and it quickly fails to deliver ink to the nib, even if you don't flex the nib."

"I've waited a few weeks to write this review. I didn't want to give a first impression. I've used the pen regularly, making notes at work and writing things up at home. It writes very smoothly and the pen feels 'just right' in the hand. I can highly recommend the pen."
