Wancher Pricing Update: What’s Changing November 16

An Update on Our Pricing — Effective November 16

At Wancher, every pen we make is a product of its materials and the hands that shape it. Over the past two years, the world around those materials has shifted considerably. The price of gold — central to our nibs and to many of our finest finishes — has climbed steadily and continues to fluctuate. Alongside it, the cost of the lacquers, resins, metals, and components that go into each pen has risen sharply.

To keep honouring the standard our pens are known for, we are adjusting the prices on select products beginning November 16 at 12 PM JST.

Why the Change

This is not a decision we take lightly, and it is not one we make quietly. We believe you deserve to understand exactly why. Two forces are behind it:

  • The fluctuating price of gold. Gold sits at the heart of our craftsmanship, and its value has risen to levels that make our previous pricing no longer sustainable.
  • The rising cost of materials. From raw components to the artisan materials that define a Wancher pen, nearly every input has become more expensive over the last two years.

Rather than absorb these changes invisibly or pass them on without notice, we chose to be open about them — and to give you time.

Your 30 Days — The Last Chance Collection

Before any price takes effect, we wanted every member of our community to have a fair window to add these pens to their collection at today's prices. That is why we created the Last Chance Collection: a full 30 days to shop the affected pens before the adjustment arrives.

We'd rather give you the chance than take you by surprise. The collection is open now and remains at current pricing right up until November 16 at 12 PM JST.

These Pens Aren't Going Anywhere

We want to be clear: this is a price adjustment, not a farewell. These pens are not being discontinued, and we fully intend to restock them. If the timing isn't right for you now, they will return — simply at the new pricing that reflects today's cost of gold and materials.

Please note: the Olympus Titan Collection and Sekai Ai – Nagisa are not subject to this price increase.

Thank you for being part of the Wancher community. Your passion for fine writing instruments is what makes this work worth doing, and we're grateful to have you with us as we continue to craft pens built to last a lifetime.
